Russia is marking May Day with rallies taking place all over the country. Tens of thousands of people are taking part in peaceful demonstrations held by political parties in central Moscow. Opposition parties, including the Communists, are taking the opportunity to speak out against the government.

The march of United Russia’s supporters and trade unions in central Moscow has attracted almost 23,000 people and proceeded down the main thoroughfare of Moscow, Tverskaya Street, towards the Kremlin.
More than 2,000 United Russia activists then gathered in the capital’s Pushkinskaya square. The Communist party has attracted around 4,000 of its supporters to Teatralnya Square.

Opressed people uniting? Wrong. It is a day to "celebrate the economic and social achievements of workers".

If you think that it is a day for the opressed to unite, so be it. That leaves them 364 days to complain about how the man is keeping them down.
