Default United Kingdom: State to snoop on your sex life with probing questions

And what would be the purpose of such information other than blackmail? Sounds like the UK is following up on what J. Edgar Hoover did in America. He stayed on in his role as the head of the FBI for many years because he had a blackmail file on everyone in Washington DC. M

United Kingdom: State to snoop on your sex life with probing questions about promiscuity and contraception

Government inspectors are to pry into the intimate details of more than 500,000 people a year, asking a series of probing questions about their sex lives and earnings.

Snooping officials will want to know about previous sexual partners, contraception, and how long couples lived together before marriage.

The 2,000-question survey from the Office for National Statistics will raise major concerns about privacy – especially as the data will be logged with the respondents' names and addresses.

Nothing surprises me these days under the nanny state introduced by Blair and continued by the grey man Brown. Bourne is right. The questionnaire will be binned by most who receive it.

Fortunately, we only have to suffer the Labour party for two more years. They have absolutely no chance of being re-elected. With Gordon brown at the helm we may not even have to wait two years.

I am also lost on why? There is no reason for the government to know about people's sex lives. Screw that.

Also, Michael, you forgot to throw a link up with your post.

There is a reason. But this isn't necessarily the best way to compile the information.

But how else do you track trends in a population but to ask the population themselves?

Yeah, but who's going to vote for the tories? What we really need is a hung parliament forcing a labour-liberal coalition.

Are you saying the article is a lie? If so, how do you account for this synopsis of the survey on the ONS site:

General Household Survey

Oh dear. Looks like the publishers of the Daily Mail could have grounds for suing this site for libel!
