It may suck, but Americans tend to approve of the US government helping out Israel and tend to be much more sympathetic towards the Israeli cause. I do agree though that the American public tends to be underinformed on the issue though.

I'm sorry that you can't believe the polls but if you have ever bothered to talk to a lot of Americans you would realize that they are quite accurate.

I think the American public is right on in this situation and shows a good understanding of the situation. Basically, Americans are against change via terror. Americans are against walking into a college and murdering 8 students. Americans are against Hamas and Hezbolah bombing and shelling innocent peolpe as a solution to their problems. Americans are against Arab Islamic nations that invade other nations as a means to spread their religion as Islam has done over their long history. Americans are tired of the refugee crisis caused by Arab Islam because instead of taking their grievences through the internation route for resolution they, lead by Egypt, invaded Israel causing the refugee crises.
