Default Fraud, intimidation and bribery as Putin prepares for victory

And from everything I've read in this forum, here I thought the guy should be called St Vladimir. I guess he's just another crooked politician. I'm SO disillusioned!

State workers forced to vote in effort to rig result for president

The Kremlin is planning to rig the results of Russia's parliamentary elections on Sunday by forcing millions of public sector workers across the country to vote, the Guardian has learned.

Local administration officials have called in thousands of staff on their day off in an attempt to engineer a massive and inflated victory for President Vladimir Putin and his United Russia party. Voters are being pressured to vote for United Russia or risk losing their jobs, their accommodation or bonuses, the Guardian has been told in numerous interviews with byudzhetniki (public sector workers), students and ordinary citizens.

Hey Bush looked him in the eye and saw his soul was as rotten as Bushes. The Bible speaks to the time the Bear will rise up. And you have pointed out it while the Bear is still on all four legs. Good post.

This election will definitely have Putin's party win. I fully expect the elections to be rigged...in a country like Russia, you don't want to lose your job...if that requires voting for Putin's party, I'd probably do it, as I would want and NEED that job.

Putin won't go down easy and I never expected him to.

Putin speaks to the Russian people.

President Vladimir Putin on Thursday strongly urged Russians to cast ballots for the main pro-Kremlin party whose ticket he's leading in Sunday's parliamentary vote.

"I ask you to come to the polls and vote for United Russia," Putin said in a televised address to the nation. "I count on your support."

The election campaign has seen massive official support for United Russia and harassment of opposition groups.

One of Putin's biggest opponents warns of chaos with the election.

MOSCOW, Nov. 29 — Released from jail after serving a five-day sentence for leading an opposition march, Garry Kasparov, the former chess champion, warned today that Russia was heading toward chaos under President Vladimir V. Putin.

Mr. Kasparov said his coalition, Other Russia, would continue its protests against the Kremlin in order to spotlight what he described as a government that has grown increasingly repressive.

“We’ve entered a very dangerous period because we don’t know where this is going to stop,” he said at an impromptu news conference outside his home in Moscow shortly after being freed. The failure of the government to abide by its own laws and Constitution, he said, “could result in a catastrophe for the whole country.”

Yeah. The worst that can happen to me if I don't vote for the local politician here in Chicago is that my garbage doesn't get picked for a week or two. But I already learned how to fix that. I just switch cans with a neighbor that works for the city and has to vote for the local politician or he might lose his job...???>>>

Hey...wait a minute.....Did I just draw an analogy between the Chicago Daley Machine and Putin???

LOL Mike, that's awesome. Yea Russia is headed down a dangerous road but it will not be Bush who confronts him, he's already done enough international damage in terms of US relations. Russia seems to be headed towards a dictatorship. BTW: What's putin ? Right or Left?

The Guardian was ALWAYS an anti-Russian paper.
I don't even understand their desire to trash Russia. Do they still live in the Cold War or what is the deal here? :D

One thing is certain - the West is doing its very best to eliminate Russia. But is the West going to win from this policy?

I don't think so...

Frankly, all these anti-Russian topics are annoying and getting boring...
Why would the Western media continue to attack Russia the same way it did during the Cold War?
The Western MSM is doing it just because the Western media is controlled by the Zionists who got kicked out of Russia in the past years.

So, as I said before - Putin is EXTREMELY popular in Russia. Life in Russia IS GOOD.

But the West (UK and America particularly) can continue its silly game though. Russia is no longer a Communist country and can care less what some fools in the Guardian have to say...

DO YOU WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH RUSSIA?

WELCOME.

DO YOU WANT TO SH*T ON RUSSIA?

THEN YOU WILL GET ZERO IN RETURN.

IT'S YOUR CHOICE. ALRIGHT?
BUT IT SEEMS TO ME THAT GERMANS MADE UP THEIR MINDS ABOUT RUSSIA ALREADY....
