This may sound callous, but... if you don't break the law, you don't have to worry about being subjected to inadequate medical care while incarcerated, in the first place.
emphasis mine

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Tan+Cretins... gotcha...

that's funny, Rocky...

Now Stripey,
I would never try to put words in your mouth, or anything else for that matter.

But, and its a big one, when you say "if you dont break the law, you dont have to worry about being subjected to inadequate medical care while incarcerated", to me that sounds a little too similar to:

Quote:
If you have nothing to hide, why do you care if the Gubment reads your private mail and emails, taps your phone, and collects all your financial records without a court order or due process.
Tigers are solitary and obviously prefur privacy.

I suspect that some of the incarcerated may have lost documentation or identification, and been locked up without any chance to prove otherwise. Most have no legal aid whatever, and little money to get advice.

Knowing how thorough this administration is in their following the letter of the law, adherence to due process, and preserving basic human rights, I am sure nobody has ever gotten locked up by mistake or unjustly. There goes that pesky sarcasm again...

Well, what else can I say butt (and this too is a big one), I AM a recovering republican... old habits die hard...

True, too... I do purrfurr my privacy to be sacrosanct and I do object to the warrantless surveilance I may have been subjected to as it just doesn't seem right for law abiding patriotic citizen tigers to be surveiled for no good reason.

true, too... loss of documentation happens... but... if you hang out with others who have also lost theirs, and are then caught in a sweep of an area frequented by undocumented workers by the authorities looking specifically for those here illegally... welll... as callous as it may sound...

maybe they should look for their documentation back where they came from... you know... at home...

and obtw Rocky... keep the sarcasm coming... I enjoy your style of posting...

I agree completely with this. There is no inherent reason why the US should be the Land of Opportunity, whereas Mexico must forever remain close to a failed state. As you indicated, the Mexican people should work for a better Mexico--either that, or apply for legal immigration to the US.
