Rogue: Interesting idea. I have not seen a follow up study on this registration system. Who is filling those jobs if the illegal aliens leave? I still see a need for an effective guest worker program that require immigrants to pass a criminal record check and have an ID card.
I also have no problem with making legal immigration more accessible, but with requirements, such as learning English.

We have a guest worker program, we have all that is proper for the ones who want to become citizens. Far to many are here to work for the gangs and carry drugs. And yes we need to enforce the laws and close the boarder even more. And when one is caught in a crime we will then be able to just pass them back to the other side of the fence and not waste $ helping them get connected and smarter (by jail house standards) while in jails.
We need to cut costs at every place we can to save our country, the states. Look at what some have come to do to budget for the year. It is a shame and ha sonly one cause. This topic!
