Good post. People think the illegal immigrants are the problem when it is really the people who hire them. Enforce the laws, make them hire people who are here legally and the illegals will have no reason to come here or even to stay.

Absolutely. Give anyone an inch and they will take a mile. It is human nature to do so when it means a better life. I find it so stupid that some states have had to pass laws to enforce laws that already existed. I personally find it embarassing that we don't enforce some of our laws.

Most illegals who are here are not criminals (yea yea, they came here illegally.... and I drove through a red light once... yep, I am a criminal too!) and are only here to make money to send home. Most are paid a wage far less than even the most uneducated american would ever accept and are not living the 'dream'. They are merely here to survive and they are taken advantage of by people who should be locked up for their shady business practices.

Exactly, but it doesn't give them the right to be here. Let's hold our citizens and business owners to a standard and the illegal immigration issue will work itself out. If jobs aren't here for them then the only illegal immigrants here for the most part will be doing illegal things. Law enforcement will be able to pursue those law breakers.

I never said they should be here. I am not exactly happy when I drive past the local 'day laborer' centers in the city I work in...

However, I do not blame the workers for coming here and doing the work that americans will not do for the prices the people are willing to pay.

It is like ants... if you scatter sugar on your floor and do not clean it up, then you cannot blame the ants for coming to feast... if you cleaned up the problem, the ants would have no reason to picnic in your kitchen. ;)
