I don't see how illegals are getting any rebate checks considering you had to have filed a 2007 tax return in order to get one.

The IRS issues Tax ID #'s in leui of social security numbers. They don't care who is illegal. Hell, they don't even care if you're a drug dealer; they just want their cut.

I don't see any problem with any immigrants getting some of their money back from the government.
If I hear about any illegal aliens getting any rebates, I'll demand the nuclear annihilation of Mexico. Matter of fact, I'll just demand that anyway.

I love it when newcomers dig through the archives here to resurrect annoying threads. We are not talking about ILLEGAL aliens here. We are talking about LEGAL aliens with green cards (or equivalent) that have paid taxes. That is part of the legal requirement to work here. Rebates are ONLY connected to paying taxes.

Do you know what you are talking about? Why don't you do a quick and easy internet search to find out what you are talking about before you post statements like this.

Illegal aliens do not have green cards or social security numbers. That is why there is a thriving black market on identity theft for illegals. The only ones that couldn't care less about them being illegal are the employers. Many agricultural companies don't care as long as they will do extremely hard and dirty work for them for the minimum wage (or less).

You don't need to be legal to obtain a Tax ID. Hell, you don't even need to be human to obtain a Tax ID. And before you start ripping me for my ignorance of the labor black market, just remember that I'm from SoCal and I saw it boom from the begining. I have watched this invasion destroy my home; I'm kind of familiar with the subject.

It is possible for illegal aliens to pay taxes. Not common, but possible. And if you notice in my above post, I made a clear distinction between immigrants and illegal aliens. Sheesh.

Look up green cards at Wikipedia or some other source. Look up this same post at Political Wrinkles. There is an excellent legal response there.

It is more than unlikely illegal aliens would COME FORWARD to volunteer to pay taxes on a salary of minimum wage or less. We are talking about hell freezing over and pigs flying first.

I agree. But, it happens. The illegal aliens are criminals, though, and should not be able to recoup anything the government took. They are not immigrants and have no right to be here, after all.
