Cosmo... the most compelling piece of evidence that we did, in fact, go to the moon, is can you imagine the bureaucracy and massive amounts of people that would have to stay quiet, and have stayed quiet for forty years, about this? Absurd.

The thousands of people working on the Manhattan project stayed quiet.

There were probably only a few hundred people who were in a position to see every aspect of the program who would be able to see whether the whole thing would work. The rest could have been fooled.

Those who weren't would have been risking their lives and the lives of their whole families by talking. Also, If someone were to make a deathbed statement or someting, the press would just ignore it.

Yeah, but the Manhattan project was released, not too long after words and the members of it have talked with the news and even done history channel specials about it. The point is, someone always comes out and talks and leaks information on everything.

The government wanted the facts to come out after the war had ended. This comparison doesn't prove anything.

Look at the video and photo evidence. That's what proves the hoax.

I sure hope we went to the moon.

Because it's really not that huge a feat, and I'd like to think we're capable of something so mundane as to simply travel to our nearest orbital body. I've got no problem believing it, because it's too pathetic to think otherwise. It's just the moon.

I'm not seeing what purpose a 40 yearold conspiracy would serve, anyway. Pride?

You can't even defend the video and photo "evidence" from the lightest of critiques. You just post a different video or photo that still fails to stand up to minor critiqueing. That only proves that the "evidence" is pathetic and insufficent.

Number one: thousands of people were not working on it. Vice-president Truman didn't even know about it until after he was sworn in.

A minimal number of people were working on it, and even fewer who weren't knew about it.

And it still leaked to the Soviets before too long.

Keeping it a secret would be harder than actually just doing it.

When I look at this thread, I see something else. I see lame attempts to discredit the obvious by people who are either suffering from cognative dissonance...

This belongs in the conspiracy theories area. If one was to watch UFO hunters they spoke with and have tapes of the missions and sightings made by several of those involved.
And yes we made landings on the moon. Just way to many people involved to not have and hide/fake it.
Next will be the question (once we do a mars landing) did it really happen?
Gee once Area 51 closed down one has to bring up what already has been proven to have happened. Dig deeper please!
