Default Jews in the Holy Land Before Zionism

Quote:
Links with Erez Yisrael were never severed. Jews who dwelt under Moslem rule would go there to pray and then return home. As we shall see below, the Karaites in the tenth century yearned deeply to settle in Jerusalem. Jews in more distant places also maintained ties with the homeland.

In the tenth century, Jerusalem became the focal point of these sectarian tendencies. Karaite thinkers of ascetic, individualistic and rationalistic orientations gathered there from all the Islamic countries, united as Avelei Zion ('Mourners of Zion') or Shoshanim ('Roses'), as their admirers called them. In the Holy City they lived in austerity, mourning the destruction of the Temple and praying for its Restoration - preoccupations they held to be the core of their religious experience. From Jerusalem they disseminated their sharp polemics against the Rabbanites, the Talmud and the gaonic leadership.

Jews choosing of their own accord to emigrate to Israel or the Middle East generally is not Zionism.

Zionism states that Jews are morally and religiously obligated emigrate to Israel.

Slight distinction.

YEP - that was the very reason - most of Orthodox Jewish immigrants were either expelled from occupied Palestine or shut-up.

Do not try to paint me as one who agrees with you.

Jew apologists are as full of crap as Jew bashers.

So Jews were there before the Palestinians. The Native Americans were here before us, but you don't see us giving up our homes to them, do you?

Why the heck can't anyone get it right? If nothing else the UN mandated the land to the Jewish Nation in 1948. Arabs excepted every other mandate but this one. Now if one goes far enough back the Bible has one of the first land deeds ever recorded and the Jews haven't all the land recorded. Laws are what th eworld need follow.
So you would take back Kosovo's freedom just to please the SAerbs and Russian's? The very much Chrisians Serbs were there longer... looool
