In 1994, 10,000 Russian forces invaded Chechnya once again and ater facing a bloody resistance - occupied its capital city of Grozny - but the Jihad continued. In November 1995, Moscow appointed a hardline Communist, Doku Zakayev, as president of occupied Chechnya. Longest Resistance in the World is actually in Ireland. Since 1171. Thats 936 years. Or if you want to start with the Desmond Rebellions (first Rebellion being 1569).
You can even go back further to the Vikings (Normans) coming to Ireland and trying to conquer it. The Irish have resisted rule since 800 A.D.

No.. The Normans weren't Catholics at the time they came to Ireland in 840 AD..
Also even though they are Christian.. its from 2 different sects, to different ways of worshiping. Also Resistance usually isn't usually based on Religion. But on common Nationality or Tribal. Take the American Revolution, The Britons (against the Romans), The Gauls against the Romans, the Visigoths and so forth. Chechens are ultimately resisting rule over their lands. Not over their religion.

Christianity has 72 denominations and Catholic is one of them. They all believe in Christ as being a Godhead or a Super-human.
Chechen are fighting to re-capture their land so they can live under Islamic Shri'ah. Their Resistance (Jihad) has always motivated by their faith. |

Key phrase.. Chechens are fighting to re-capture their land.. Their faith stays with them wherever they go. Talk to Quirk about this on World Agenda Forum.

Well....you have your problems and I have my solutions. Every resistance in Muslim regions have been fueled by Islamic faith, which is only force which can unite several communities within Muslim Ummah.
To me anyone who follows St. Paul and NT - is a Christian....Just like anyone who believe in Allah and follow His Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Holy Qur'an - is a Muslim. I have discussed several things with Quirk - and has just quit World Agenda Forum....after realizing he and his Moderators are running Zionist agenda and like to hearl abusive language against Islam and poster who criticize USrael or Jews. |

Well, I haven't see the Scots actively resisting since the Jacobites during the Glorious Revolution. Which 2 of the main battles happened in Ireland.

The Romans never went to Ireland. So I could legitimately claim that the inhabitants of Scotland have been resisting invaders since at least 84AD (Battle of Mons Graupius). A bit more recently, the problems which even now exist between Scots and English can be traced directly to the territorial ambitions of Longshanks (Edward (Plantagenet) I of England) after the death of Alexander III in 1292. The "Glorious Revolution" was neither glorious nor a revolution, it was a coup de tat carried out by an alliance of Protestants, Catholics and plutocrats. All of whom were intent on lining their own pockets. The Jacobite Risings other than that 1689, were intended to regain the throne for the Stuarts. '89 was intended to remove William of Orange from the throne. The Risings for the Stuart cause were in 1715, 1719 and 1745. This last ended on Drumossie Muir. Finny, you also ignored the radical war of 1820, when the British establishment set up an armed encounter with Scottish radicals. |
