He asked you for the data...provide it to him.
I won't take a position on this argument because I am a 'mindful environmentalist.' That means that I take care of my land and try to stop those who pollute others.

However, in the context of this debate, he has requested over and over again for data which has not been provided.....I too would like to see such data.

I personally believe in 'global warming.' I have my suspicions that the acceleration is caused by man. I have yet to see empirical evidence to sway my belief one way or the other. Do provide and dispense with the attacks (not particularly directed at you).

You still haven't said what you consider to be acceptable evidence. What 'evidence' can you present to say that we aren't causing this?

As already stated by others, just because something is happening, it doesn't mean that we aren't contributing and accelerating it.

You cannot prove a negative. To state that he cannot prove that 'we aren't' is bogus. Of course he cannot prove that 'we aren't.' No one can and thus it is an inacceptable debate criteria.

I have.. I would like to see data that demonstrates unequivocally that carbon dioxide is the cause of the warming of the earth...

See. The earth has been warming since the last ice age.. and I know from basic Physical chemistry that as the earth warms, carbon dioxide will be more soluble in the atmosphere..

So, show me data that it was carbon dioxide that made the earth warm and not the earth warming (since the last ice age) which caused the increase in carbon dioxide.


AND while you are at it.. present the basic data which as led scientists to call carbon dioxide a 'greenhouse' gas.. .. and I am talking about MORE than just mathematical models and Fourier transforms of theory.

According to scientists' recent reports, their predictions are now off: it's worse than before because global production of CO2 has increased, not decreased, and that is during a campaign to reduce it AND economic downturns.

There's absolutely no realistic way to fix the problem now. We can't reduce emissions, because the third and developing world will just ramp up their production and not just cancel any benefits, but make the situation worse. This will act as a disincentive for the developed world to do it. Moreover, we already have or will have approached a tipping point where nothing can turn it back.

Scientists also recently reported massive fissures in the permafrost that is and will release long-stored methane deposits.

The Holocene will be one of the worst mass extinction events in Earth history to date. But hey, at least you got to drive SUVs. Hope you're satisfied.
