Showing him the data would be about as useful as trying to get a monkey to understand calculus. Entirely pointless. He already has it dead-set in his mind that his layman opinion is sufficient to dismiss the entire scientific community's work based off of his personal googling research (which is so poor at that, given he asserts he can't find information that takes me 3 minutes to find on yahoo).

If you actually entertained his bullsht and took the effort to cite information from, say, the national academy, he would just dismiss it with, as you said, charges of nebulous leftism and denial or claim there is a big conspiracy of scientists to tax him.

If you have the data why not show it? Or is this just a bluff? Heck, if the data demonstrate global warming caused by man.. then I will stand corrected.

However, if the data and experimental design is flawed, I will tell you that too.

Of course, because I have a different set if ideas than yours, I am brain dead.

Does that mean that if you had the power, you would put me into a special leftist concentration camp.. so that I can learn to think in lock step with the party line.. just like you?

Climate change is a "hysterical psuedo-religion."

Quote:
The Environment Minister Sammy Wilson has angered green campaigners by describing their view on climate change as a "hysterical psuedo-religion".

In an article in the News Letter, Mr Wilson said he believed it occurred naturally and was not man-made.

"Resources should be used to adapt to the consequences of climate change, rather than King Canute-style vainly trying to stop it," said the minister.

Peter Doran of the Green Party said it was a "deeply irresponsible message."

Mr Wilson said he refused to "blindly accept" the need to make significant changes to the economy to stop climate change.

"The tactic used by the "green gang" is to label anyone who dares disagree with their view of climate change as some kind of nutcase who denies scientific fact," he said.

The minister said he accepted climate change can occur, but does not believe the cause has been identified.

"Reasoned debate must replace the scaremongering of the green climate alarmists."

Can you prove that abortion is the murder of a child?

Now the UN wants to control our diet in order to "fight Global Warming"

Quote:
People should have one meat-free day a week if they want to make a personal and effective sacrifice that would help tackle climate change, the world's leading authority on global warming has told The Observer

Dr Rajendra Pachauri, chair of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which last year earned a joint share of the Nobel Peace Prize, said that people should then go on to reduce their meat consumption even further.

His comments are the most controversial advice yet provided by the panel on how individuals can help tackle global warning.
