Antarctica may have been warmer in the past (Fossil Suggests Antarctica Much Warmer in Past - Yahoo! News, Antarctic fossils paint a picture of a much warmer continent and Antarctic Fossils Paint Picture Of Much Warmer Continent)- further suggesting that it isn't man-made global warming that is supposedly causing Antarctica to melt away (Green Left - Features: Antarctic meltdown: can we stop it in time?).

A panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air. "Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder. "I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up." The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation. "Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves." Where were these posted? There has been some thawing of the North Pole since the last Ice Age but this is cyclic.. and certainly in the winter for both poles there is no thawing.

And even if the poles are melting, there is evidence that the entire planet was warmer in the distant past and there's even a possibility that there were no poles (at least not as land masses or ice) in the distant past.

and we know that at one time in the past, Greenland was actually green with trees and forests.. and civilizations rose up on that land mass. Wikimedia Error So the idea that there is some melting of the poles is not a novel thing. and certainly JUST because it happens is not PROOF that man caused it. |
