How the hell is it supposed to get "peer reviewed" if so-called "scientists" are just dismissing it out of hand without even bothering to go and see the damned thing?????

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

Maybe you should read the article and see the photo that is included in it. BlackLight's physics-defying promise: Cheap power from water - Jul. 2, 2008

As for commentary from scientists and engineers, it appears that they - like Donkey Jote - have simply chosen to dismiss it out of hand without bothering to go to the damned company lab and seeing it.

Technology Review is put out by MIT. If this invention is going to work after they evaluate it, they will post and article. It is a really good source or peer reviewed research.

Well, if the reaction is exothermic you could theoretically get energy from it...

But you have to put energy into the reactions to synthesize the reactants. It takes energy to hydrolyze water in O2 and H2, and I don't think NaH occurs naturally very often either. The question is, does the amount of energy you get from the BlackLight reaction counterbalance the amount of energy you put into obtaining the reactants?

I don't think so, everything in nature balances in terms of energy and mass.

Yes, but not all of that energy is useable. Remember the laws of thermodynamics. Entropy increases towards a maximum. Nothing has 100% efficiency. Energy will always be lost in the form of randomized heat.

Mills' theory, which he expounds upon in his self-published 2,000 page book, The Grand Unified Theory of Classical Quantum Mechanics, rests on what he describes as his discovery of the hydrino - an altered version of hydrogen that has an energy level lower than its ground state, or the baseline energy level. These modified atoms, he argues, are the stuff that comprises dark matter, the invisible material that many scientists believe composes more than 90% of the universe. The mechanism that creates hydrinos - a chemical reaction whose released energy can allegedly be harnessed for power - is what Mills calls the BlackLight Process.

Why do scientists give Mills so much heat? By positing that a molecule's energy level can dip below its ground state, he rewrites the principles of quantum mechanics, which are widely viewed as incontrovertible. Perhaps the most widely-known critique of his theory was published by Andreas Rathke of the European Space Agency, who argues that Mills' mathematics is flawed.
That does sound far-fetched. I'd like to see empircal evidence of these "hydrinos," as well as a mathematical and engineering treatment of the machine.

Of everything I have posted here about alternative energy, I am much more impressed with the potential for immediate use of the vortex engine. And that is because traditional power plants already have cooling towers, and all you would have to do is retrofit a cooling tower to substantially increase the output of energy of a traditional power plant. That's do-able and a win-win situation for industry and consumers (lowering costs).

Or you could put a modified wind turbines on the sides of every skyscraper in the country. Think about it: those tall buildings generate tremendous downdrafts. If you could harness a tenth of that wind energy, you could generate a quarter of the office building's electrical requirements.
