Carbon Belch Day
Things like this really make me ashamed for humanity that it could really produce ignorant dip****s of this magnitude. They obviously aren't content being idiots, they need to go out and deliberately cause problems because of it. Their objective is essentially deliberately to waste resources and expend as much energy as possible for the express purpose of protest. This is the type of mentality that impedes progress, contributing to why so many societies end up collapsing instead of dealing with problems when they still can.

I support this. I think the people who came up with this idea should combine protest with experiment. They should experiment on what effect carbon emissions have over time on a finite environment. First, they should paint "I am protesting carbon footprint nonsense for Carbon Belch Day" on their garage door (that's the protest part). Then go in the garage, close the door, sit in their car, turn it on and run the engine all day while they document the minimal impact on the environment.

A panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air. "Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder. "I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up." The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation. "Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves." |

that reminds me of when the truckers were protesting fuel prices in Portland (though it was a good cause). What did they do to protest? They drove around the city (in a big circle) twice just before rush hour, causing massive traffic jam wasting who knows how much gas by the time all was said and done. Like that is going to get the oil company to lower prices.
