But what about the ecological damage from the extra drain on water resources, particularly in places like California?

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

That's a good point, Chan. Maybe they could set up desalinization plants fueled with energy from the new fusion plants.

We still have a long ways to go for Fusion power to get on the grid. We should be investing more time and resources into making solar and wind power all the more efficient. We are harnessing a small fraction of the suns rays at the current time so if we can come up with better solar cells power output will sky rocket.

I have heard about one person saying he has has the way to create cold fusion, but his experiments have never been duplicated. So he hasn't survived peer review.

So, where is someone in, say, Missouri, going to get access to ocean water? What are they going to do, truck it in from Lost Angeles?

Precisely my point, Michael.

Who has the facilities at their home to create hydrogen gas? Are residential areas even zoned for that? Or do you have to live near where the Honda is being leased in order to benefit from it's zero pollution operation?

maybe bourne can afford to move there on a whim because he wants to take advantage of the technology boon but most americans don't have that luxury these days.

excellent point... so far they are only going to be offered in LA... which seems a long way to go for a fillup...
