I agree. I'd feel very unsafe in one of these. I wouldn't buy one and even if I WON one in a contest, I'd probably try and sell it right away since I don't think it would be safe in any kind of collision. In fact I recently had the opportunity to try and win one in a contest and I didn't bother.

Maybe if I lived out in the country where speed limits were 25mph everywhere and you rarely saw anyone else on the road, it would be ok... but most of the roads I drive on to work are 40mph... no way would I drive that!

If the roads were all 20-25 mph, I'd be biking it. The only thing that I can think of me using it for, would be selling it.

It's a miniscule, homely (I'm being polite here) novelty that struggles to outpace delivery trucks and uses MORE fuel than many much-more-practical cars. It's a fashion statement, no more and no less.
