I totally agree with President Morales. Capitalism eats up resources in search of profits, it is a catalyst for climate change.

Resources are over consumed by the capitalists pushing for profit. A command economy can prevent this. Capitalism never will.

I'm not 100% sold on this.
Let's not confuse capitalism with consumerism. One can have a modest capitalist system with good regulation that does help control spending because public funds are poured into social projects. It's wealth that produces consumers - and what you're saying with your words is that capitalist countries are wealthier. Pro-capitalists will jump on that as evidence that socialism is a failure economically (conveniently ignoring controls that wealthy countries place on poorer ones regardless of eithers economic system). Consumerism, fueled by poorly regulated corporate interests (which do generate wealth) is rampant. There's a few good books about this "Affluenza" is what it is dubbed. |

You really think China is a Communist country?

Does anyone remember the widespread ecological wastelands found in eastern europe after liberation in the late 1980s? And the huge tracts of land made permanently unihabitable by Chernobyl - was that due to capitalism?

No, it was due to fascism.
