So did the US and Britian and Russia. The War sparked the economy for everyone. A successful war economy is not hard to turn into a successful peace economy. The Germany economy, seeing as how West Germany did so well after the war in times of peace is a good example, even though they lost.

An economy driven by war is not a success. It caused 60 million people to die. Under no circumstances can that be seen as successful. An economy is not a success if it requires mass murder to be achieved. The country was destroyed by the nazi's and was only a success because of loans and aid, not because of the dazzling performance of the nazi's.

If there ever was in the history of humanity an enemy who was truly universal, an enemy whose acts and moves trouble the entire world, threaten the entire world, attack the entire world in any way or another, that real and really universal enemy is precisely Yankee imperialism

They talk about the failure of socialism but where is the success of capitalism in Africa, Asia and Latin America?

The economy didn't cause 60 million deaths, that was the war, of which just about everyone was apart of. Russia got it's spark from the war, the US got it's spark from the war, and Germany got it's spark from the war.

Also if you look at the dates I was refering too, in the 15 year period, only the last 2 years were in war. Looking at the economy (as that is what we are talking about) and the massive growth that it recieved is it clear that it had one of the best improvements in world history.

I think we're a bit off track. Lets just say that Germany's economy did remarkably well statistically pre-WW2.

It fails to address the global warming challenge/overconsumption problem however.

I think it comes down to the world you want to live in. I was raised with "the world is what you make it" ethos. It appears Wombat was raised differently. Perhaps "the world is what it is - go rape it".

China WILL come on board as others do. Granted, it may take a few years - but they will come on board. As for jobs going overseas - that has nothing to do with the response to climate change. In fact, climate change and its subsequent "treaties" can be used to justify harsh measures on China for NOT coming on board.

As for rampant consumerism, a successful economy is perhaps the worst possible thing for the planet. So in that regard Germany was a disaster
