The Soviet Bloc after WWII until dissolution and China now are classic examples of non-socialist economies but classic examples of state capitalist totalitarianism.

The environment was China was ruined by the Chinese before they sucked up the grab for cash mentality. To think that Communism will save the environment is like living under mushrooms looking for pixie dust.

Throughout Asia, there is the worst environment damage. You might also find it of interest that a lot of damage to the Great Barrier Reef has been committed by Chinese ships who dumped asian water at the Great Barrier Reef. The Crown Thorns Starfish is due to Chinese ships.

This ownership of morality is absurd. History clearly shows that neither side has the right to claim it.

Singapore just got a big pat on the back for water conservation policies. In other parts of Asia - eg Indonesia and Malaysia - capitalist economic policies are driving the rape of their resources.

China is no longer Communist, more so they are at the current moment the most agressively Capitalist country in the World.

Back to the point in hand of course Morales is right Capitalism is responsible for much of the global warming occuring in the world.
It opposes Bio-Fuel as this would spell the end of the oil industry and thus many of the largest corporations of the world would collapse. It is responsible for the tearing down of the Amazon, for the over consumption of Carbon fuels. It cares only for profit not for the environment or the welfare of the human populace.

Remeber America are one of the only countries not to sign up to the Kyoto protocol as it would effect their oil industry.

Bosco, the Kyoto Agreement is a farce. China(etc) are the world's polluters but they don't have to do a single thing. This whole agreement is only going to help the big global multinationals make more money off everyone else.

China had raped their nature before they took on quasi capitalism.

I don't think Morales is saying that China or the USSR were great environmentally friendly states. However, only a command economy can adequately plan and take in environmental factors. Where as capitalisms answer is let the markets decide. Which really isn't answer, it is the path to hell.

They talk about the failure of socialism but where is the success of capitalism in Africa, Asia and Latin America?

The interesting thing is that most forms of alternative energies began and have been improved by a capitalist economy.

The markets being the people (the consumers). It allows the people to decide what enviromental changes are exceptible rather than the government telling the people what they will be stuck with.
