Nice article on methane releases. I have said many times that those who resist exploitation of natural gas deposits are themselves a major cause of global warming gas, since if the pressure of these deposits can be relieved it is less likely to escape into the atmosphere unburned. Massive sea bed eruptions are also the likely cause of ocean vessels disappearing, so these environuts are responsible for losses of human life as well.

I post the graph because it does show just how dramatic climate change has been. Just look at the transition from the ordovician to the silurian periods. It is possible that there was outside help (i.e meteor) but that isn't the only period of climate change. In fact, none of the transitions for hot house to cold house have ever been as slow as the transition we are currently in.
If anything, we could probably conclude that man is slowing global warming.
