I have no doubt that we are going through a cycle of global warming. I also have no doubts that the world has been warming and cooling since time began. These events are cyclical and I very much doubt that man has the ability to change them to any significant degree.
Our governments will, of course, tell us otherwise. It is in their interests to do so, for it provides them with a huge opportunity to raise revenue through so called 'green taxes'. |

As for buildings causing warming temperatures, how does that figure when measurements are made in Africa or pacific islands - or extreme altitude. Are you suggesting there's enough radiated temperature to do this? And night readings? Maybe all that heat stays around ALL night.. i can't believe this talk. Challenge the science and stop throwing these silly conspiracy theories that world governments WANT to deal with the problem. Last edited by Recusant : 04-12-2008 at 12:20 AM. |

It's hardly hype. Yea. It happened before. That it happened before doesn't mean Humans are not, in this case, a major catalyst. It also doesn't mean it will be good, despite having happened before. No one ever said climate change isn't natural, ever. Of course it is. That's neither here no there, though.
Diseases come and go, that doesn't mean they aren't serious, and it never means they are never exacerbated by human actions. |

![]() Yes, it's clearly a totally natural cycle. You hit the nail right on the head there. The fact is that there is a natural cycle--but the effect of that cycle has clearly been exacerbated by human activity.

Isn't it interesting, Zephyr, how those red spikes correspond perfectly with the Industrial Revolution & the incredible growth of human population? What a coincidence!

It's clearly fabricated by Big Government in order to expand the Nanny State.
Duh.
