Mindset. Mindset. You know, anti-science...anti-humanism...Orwellianism..Fascism...a "throwback" to the Dark Ages...everything kinda fits together...kinda of an "intellectual nuclear winter". Well, that's where we've been the last 7+ years.

Thank you,. I stand corrected. I assumed that since some scientists thought that the ice age was ended by high CO2 levels that that meant there was a higher CO2 level back then. Guess that is what I get for assuming.

Typically (based on past levels that we can be certian of from ice pact reading) the CO2 levels are around 270-280 ppm, at the end of each ice age, CO2 rose to about 315 - 325 ppm temporarily until the ice melted, then it went back down to the normal 275~ish ppm. These rise and falls take place over 500 - 2,000 years (thats just for the rise, than another 500 - 2,000 for the drop). We've gone from 280 ppm to 380 ppm in the last 150 years.

Bad comparison. There was nothing hypocritical in what was said.

Atabap, good article. I have read many more that have refutted GWing.
You need to refer to me as UShaditComing on this forum so people will know who you are talking about. I was lie exposer on the other forum which I found to be a waste of time but I chose a different name here. The name UShaditComing is only appropriate for some forums. Don't be such a bimbo, you'll give real women who want to debate politics a bad name.

Why do you want to do this anyway? You don't seem to have the brains to do more than screech, 'is not, is not'.

A little expose and some advice on how to deal with the petetion mentioned in the OP:

Quote:
Anti-Global Warming Petition Project is a website that anyone interested in who or what is behind the drive to deny there's a problem. As I'm sure most have at least heard about, this is where that "19,000 scientists" who supposedly know and believe it to be a hoax, have signed their names.

In truth, what we find is a "master list" of the nations kooks, crackpots, liars and corporate shills who have been assembled by a small group of academics with what appears to be a motivation stemming from a strange mixture of fundamental Christianity and Darwinian social mores.
The list exists, and there are indeed several bright people on it, notably Lindzen from MIT, but by and large the other names I have managed to establish firmly are the names of people with "divinity" degrees issued by Oral Roberts and Bob Jones U, or --- and this is kind of strange --- people who are certainly very old if they aren't already dead, and who worked for the military in some capacity or another but who, judging by some of the projects they worked on, lost their minds. Indeed, it is actually fun to pick a name at random then go looking for it's owner. More often than not you will find they worked on some project to along the lines of perpetual motion, cold fusion, or a method of turning gold into cheese (no, I didn't get the order wrong <g>).

It is so bizarre actually that I feel it would make a good theme for a website . Doing an expose on the six wing-nuts who own the website and started the project, then devoting some time to each of the thieves or wackos as we find them, an element that would keep the website "fresh". I was thinking of a comedic element along the lines of "Betty Bowers --- America's Best Christian!".
And a good start is America's rabid right crazy in chief, Lindzen. He's their leader and he's as good as it gets for credentials. Not that being well paid by Exxon should be a strike against him to start! (snicker)

taking my inspiration from whoever wrote the previous 'expose', I've taken a name completely at random from the petition...

here's what we get:

Ralph D Meeker, PhD

Ralph D. Meeker, Ph.D.

he teaches computer science. Clearly an expert source of information pertaining to global warming.

Yeah but what else does he when nobody's looking? I hear he's a flat earther too and God makes oil in the ground faster than we can use it up.

Global warming is hard to say from either side. The earth is warming but does that mean it's not just a natural variation? A lot of people think that it is, and I for one do not believe man is at fault. I do believe man should care for the environment though.
