i post this out of respect. back in the late 70's, while on a playcation to new orleans, i pulled up to a traffic light in the french quarter, and stopped suddenly when some pedestrians walked in front of my car....my mouth agape as I realized it was none other than dick cavett and his wife, carrie nye, who held up his hand to apologize for walking against the light in front of my car. i almost killed dick cavett. brush with celebrity, in the wrongest way.

Respect to who?? What this has to do with the 2008 elections that have already passed, I really don't know. Is there a topic or an issue you plan on discussing?

what is wrong with you. apparently aaronssongs was "dead on" about you. you seek to take issue where there is none. dick cavett did a take on sarah palin..newsflash, she was the gop vp pick for 2008. is there some other place you think i should have posted the piece? damn.

I just wanted to know what this has to do with the upcoming 2008 elections, being that they already occured. I also asked you "respect to who"? Seems like perfectly valid questions.

Dick Cavett is now a blogger? I guess there is still life after comedy.

Elction 2008 is in the past. As far as where you should have posted the piece, maybe in the "Anything but Politics". That would be my guess.

what is it missing from your life? sex? significance? friends? and then you want to pick fights with not only me, but fairly few others on this board.

No, don't wanna be a mod. I just wanted to know the direction this thread wants it's readers to go. Wanted clarification on "respect to who". Wanted to know what this has to do with the 2008 elections that are over with. I asked that in post #2 , and posted my opinion in post #4. That's all.

But it seems like "sleuth" has the issue with bickering here...not me. His comment takes this the level of a personal attack:

In respionse to your post, I suggest you re-read the OP and then you may agree. What do YOU think this thread is about? IMO there is NO direction that we are asked to go in, there is no question asked of members to comment on, and this it NOTHING to do with the long gone 2008 elections. It seems more like a story about almost hitting a celebrity with a car...far from a political topic. I don't see how my response to the OP was baiting. You tell me. These were my questions in order to find clarity with the thread.

My response to the OP was the following:
