Exclamation Obama Wants a "Civilian National Security Force"

We already have a National Guard and a State Military Reserve. These are made up of basically volunteers of all ages. What exactly does Obama have up his sleeve?

Watch the YouTube clip: YouTube - Obama civilian national security force.
Quote:
Obama's Civilian National Security Force
Barack Obama's recent words to promote his image as Community Organizer in Chief were not about forming a paramilitary force of volunteer brown shirts. They were about turning America into one, giant, community organizer's sandbox at enormous cost to taxpayers.

Senator Obama was nearly 17 minutes into his July 2 speech (yet another one where naming Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was required) in Colorado Springs, Colorado when he deviated from his pre-released script and performed without the teleprompter net saying,
"We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
The immediate context for that amazing statement was a preview of parts of his plan to vastly expand community service opportunities for Americans of nearly all ages. He said,
"People of all ages, stations, and skills will be asked to serve."
The range of his community service initiatives was outlined in an earlier American Thinker article. In his campaign document entitled "The Blueprint for Change: Barack Obama's Plan For America," Obama's "Service" section runs a close second to "Education" in complexity. But, with his Colorado Springs' statement, it grabbed first place in its projected costs to taxpayers. Obama did the cost projection himself.

He plans to double the Peace Corps' budget by 2011, and expand AmeriCorps, USA Freedom Corps, VISTA, YouthBuild Program, and the Senior Corps. Plus, he proposes to form a Classroom Corps, Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, Veterans Corps, Homeland Security Corps, Global Energy Corps, and a Green Jobs Corps. Here a corps - there a corps - everywhere a corps corps.

A civilian national security force that will start reporting to the government neighbors and family members and people they don't like. People with politically incorrect views will be rounded up and imprisoned for being threats to national security - not unlike Bush's notion of American citizens being declared enemy combatants.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

'Volunteers' are not paid for their services. Therefore, any position that is remunerated cannot be a volunteer position. That said, we already have a 'civilian national security force' of volunteers. It is called the militia.

No, California does not have a Militia. If so, please direct me to where I can get info on joining...a link would work.

I no longer live in California so I can't help you.
However, you should start with your state constitution....then go to the statutes.

Ours is called the 'state guard' which is not affiliated with the national guard.
There are other militia organizations.....they generall work under the individual county sheriff when activated. They do search and rescue mostly.

The organized militia created by the Militia Act of 1903, which split from the 1792 Uniform Militia forces, and consist of State militia forces, notably the National Guard and the Naval Militia. The National Guard is not to be confused with the National Guard of the United States, which is a federally recognized reserve military force, though the two are linked. There is also the unorganized militia, created by the same Militia Act of 1903, which consists of every able-bodied male from the ages of 17 to 45 who are not members of the national guard or naval militia (anyone eligible for the draft).

Still, can you please provide a link or two so that I can go directly to the Militia's web page? Where is their headquarters if someone were interested in joining up?

Note the following from my earlier post:

"and consist of State militia forces, notably the National Guard"

As an example of this, here's what we have in New York State: New York Guard,a component of the New York State Militia Forces
