Unsurprisingly, Barack Obama has received several endorsements recently from major newspapers: among them, the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, and The Washington Post. However, John McCain has now snagged an important endorsement in the battleground state of Florida.

As the article notes, Sen. Obama received a split-decision endorsement from the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Newspaper endorsements in Florida and Pennsylvania are far more consequential than similar endorsements in Illinois, California, and DC--which are hardly up for grabs.
