He may be smart, but he's STILL a tool for the rabid right. Also, he has a deep-seated and utterly irrational dislike of the Clintons. Yeah, he became a critic if the Iraq debacle...after it became clear that it was a failure. Before that, he was in the first line of its cheerleaders. Peggy Noonan is a disagreeable old broad who used to write speeches for Ronald Ray-Gun. Her rightwing credentials could hardly be more solid...and she can't abide Klondike Annie, either.

Ken Adelman is a lifelong wingnut. He campaigned for Goldwater, was hired by Rumsfeld at the Office of Economic Opportunity under Nixon, was assistant to Defense Secretary Rumsfeld under Ford, served as Reagan’s director of arms control, and joined the Defense Policy Board for Rumsfeld’s second go-round at the Pentagon, in 2001. Adelman’s friendship with Rumsfeld, Cheney, and their wives goes back to the sixties, and he introduced Cheney to Paul Wolfowitz at a Washington brunch the day Reagan was sworn in. He's what you might call a True Believer.

Here's what he had to say about the choice of Sarah-cuda Palin as insane McCain's running-mate:
