Why do Democrats so hate individual freedom of choice?

I consider myself more progressive than most, so here's my basic take on Palin. As a woman who cares deeply about women's rights in our country, I applaud her professional achievements and her commitment to her family. Many of her personal beliefs, though, I believe erode women's rights. And as VP candidtate, woman or not, she's unqualified and out of her political league for now.
