McCain-Palin Bailout Support Belies Talk of 'Change'
"Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin should read the platform of their own party before making a plan to deal with this most recent financial crisis," says Bob Barr, the Libertarian Party nominee for president. "The GOP platform clearly states that it is opposed to government bailouts and market regulation," explains Barr. "However, McCain and Palin are in favor of the bailouts if they come with market regulation. Apparently, being a 'maverick' means favoring 'big government.'" "It's not good enough to say the bailouts are acceptable as long as there are regulations attached," Barr says. "Taxpayers will still be on the hook for a trillion dollars the government doesn't have, and the government will still be interfering in the market—neither of which are acceptable." "A vote for this bailout package, in whatever form it comes in, is a vote against the American taxpayer, and a vote against the free market," Barr states. Libertarian Party presidential candidate Bob Barr represented the 7th District of Georgia in the U. S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003. The Libertarian Party is America's third largest political party, founded in 1971 as an alternative to the two main political parties. You can find more information on the Libertarian Party by visiting www.LP.org. The Libertarian Party proudly stands for smaller government, lower taxes and more freedom.

A panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air. "Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder. "I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up." The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation. "Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves." |

Isn't supporting the GOP platform??? Just another reason for Democrats to cross over and vote for McCain.
