Default Keeping Track of Primary Dates and Winners

I'm not going to be able to remember these once they really get going. So I thought I'd like to keep track as the winners start coming in. This is a cool election cycle, there are lots of candidates that have the possibilty of winning on both sides right now. In making this list I've seen how messed up our primary system is. Some states have different dates for each party. I don't know how the ballot will be in Florida for the Democrats but only Clinton and Kucinich were on the ballot in Michigan because those states broke DNC rules and moved the dates up before Super Tuesday. Anyway, here's the list. We can add to it as it happens.

Florida Democratic primary is the same status as the Michigan Democratic primary - no delegates will be recognized by the DNC and none of the Democratic candidates will actively campaign there.

Good thread. It is a good idea to have such a list.

Do you know if any of them will be on the ballot?

Apparently by a rule quirk, all the names will be there, even though Edwards, Obama, Biden and Richardson formally withdrew their names (pandering to Iowa and NH).

From what I've read, it seems that only names that have formally withdrawn from the campaign will be off the ballot so the Florida Democratic primary will still show a full vote - just no accreditation of the results for DNC convention delegates.

Thus, a win in Florida would still count as a 'win', it just doesn't give any delegates.

That's good. Better than Michigan where Hillary "won" but only she and Kucinich were on the ballot. Uncommitted was a close second.

Clinton ..................328,151 ....55%
Uncommitted ..........237,762 ....40%

At least this way we can see how Florida votes, without the candidates even campaining there.

I hear Hillary isn't even in South Carolina. They are saying she's conceeding that one...although Bill is there. She's traveling around the super Tuesday states.
