The question is....was she 'inside' the facility?

There are three venues owned by the city / county. There are more that are listed but neither is the owner. All are manages by the same entity which is a non-profit corp. If she did not get inside.....public property. If she got inside and became disruptive...that of course would be another story.

I'm far less concerned with the minutae of public/private trespass, which appears at least debatable, than the fact that McCain is apparently terrified of dissent. Indeed McCain DOES equal Bush, in terms of insulation and isolation from differing views.

Regardless of the technical details of the legality, it looks bad, as it should, to strongarm an old lady with police officers. Don't manhandle the messenger, address the message!

Just based upon what I have learned about this situation... so far... this seems like a plausible scenario.

The players:

The McCain camp
held one of their 'town meetings'
is known for filtering questions from the audience

The Denver Center
hosted the event
according to a statement from them their policy is no signs, leafletting, ect... in other words, no demonstrating of sorts.

Scenario:
Kreck went to the Center intending to attend the McCain's town meeting with her sign "McCain = Bush"
Secret Service noticed her and reported her to Center security.
center security confronted her. The police eventually escorted her from the building and cited her for trespassing.

It is my opinion that this all went according to plan. I propose that it was Kreck's intention to enter the meeting and be expelled from it... proving her point that "McCain = Bush". Instead what happened was she didn't get that far... she was stopped by security. However, the fall-out still had a negative effect on the McCain camp. Therefore Kreck, knowing what the outcome would be, was successful in getting her message out that "McCain = Bush".

Does this seem plausible?
