America got a wake up call, not white America. Pushing race into an issue of great concern and distress to thousands of people is just wrong. It's racist.

Yes, the Americas were founded upon racism, that is what the new world was all about. The United states of America however, questionable depending on your perspective. I would say that, even after the Constitution was founded, little, if not nothing, was done to raise the social standing of Black Americans and Natives, not until Lincoln or the Civil rights movement anyway.

I don't see this statement as racist because I think the statement is true. But is it also racist?
What I want to know is how the notion of "people of color had not gone away..." equates with "ignoring black concerns." Are there not other people of color besides the blacks?

They apparently believe that racism does exist today. Does that make the statement racist?
How does he figure that "racism is how this country was founded"? Is the statement itself racist? No. Does it show an underlying attitude of animosity toward whites? Yes. Does that make Wright a racist? No, because racism has to do with not merely having animosity toward a particular racial group but also having a sense that your own racial group is inherently superior.

A panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air.

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."
