that is simply stupid circular thinking
one doesn't BECOME a bad (insert noun) because one disagrees or condemns bad (insert noun)

You're more than welcome to question his moral principles, but know that they ultimately lead to laws prohibiting certain types of speech. Neo-nazis and holocaust deniers are routinely locked up in Europe for simply speaking their minds. I suggest you stop focussing on individual morality and focus on political positions, as the latter tend to be more damaging.

My interest on the laws of the EU in regards to American law is minimal.
The EU countries do not have our constitution, nor our constitutionally guaranteed freedom of speech. I get tired of hearing how America has to be careful because of the hate speech laws in other countries. There are countries in the world that cut off the hands of thieves. I'm not worried about that happening in the U.S. either. We have a different culture here. Our constitution prevents many of the issues considered as slippery slopes because of the results in other countries. edited to add: did you miss the part of my post which stated clearly that he should not be stopped from voicing his opinion?

I never used the word 'bad'. When 'ban' is used, than what you say is true. But in the case of tolerance and intolerance, you are doing the very thing that you say you are against. It's like saying every one should be accepting, so I won't accept those that aren't accepting, that's total hypocrisy.

I know you said he should be able to voice his concerns, and I said you should focus on people's political beliefs instead, since they denote what they want to DO to other people. Chan finds homosexuality to be deviant, but his political agenda is to afford them the same rights as everybody else. This is not a problem, and your attempts to change his way of thinking is unncecessary.

Oh great, another legitimate philosphical discussion that must revolve around the constitution of the US. These people are like religous fundamentalists, they run from philosophical debate, instead clutching on to their sacred text.

Not to mention - intolerance IS a bad thing. As I said, I do not approve of his being punished for his ignorant and bigoted intolerant POV - that doesn't mean I won't point it out. That is not intolerance. Using your reasoning, slaves were racists because they didn't like being owned by whites.

oh, great - somebody who thinks a discussion that was about legalities should ignore the uber text that defines law in this country.

This is not a country, but an international community. Why are you all incapable of arguing if something is right or not ? Read the OP, it is not about legalities. It's an argument about the description of homosexuals.
