I prefer my cigars stuffed with something other than tobacco. ;)

So do lots of people I know. My supply is unlimited due to the prosperous cannabis free market! It's almost perfect competition as defined by economists because they all sell the same item for different prices, except for that whole "it's illegal" thing.
Just remember kids, marijuana's bad even though all of its ill health effects come from smoking it because smoking anything is harmful and eating it has no bad health effects!

Russell Means ran for president twice for the Green Party. He is full blood Lakota. One heck of a guy. He played Chinachkook in the Last of the Mowhicans. I think I heard that he has a full blood Lakota wife and they have ten kids. Repopulating the tribe!
They already had a violent stand off with the feds back in the 70's. I don't want that to happen again.

Well, in researching the Native American issues, I find one recurring theme. The United States Federal Government has systematically abused it's power. Each time a deal was set with the Native populations, the deal was renegotiated by the US, continually limiting Native rights, land, and thus chance at true independence.
Someone made the suggestion that we should give the land back without the improvements. That's not a repayment for the land taken. The Native populations haven't had use of the land stolen from them for nearly two full centuries. Considering this, any land given back to the Native populations would have to remain intact with all improvement plus a monetary sum that is a direct repayment for the revenues made off those lands. Oil extracted from the land? Cut em a check. Coal extracted from the land? Cut em a check. Farming on the land? Cut em a check. Any use of the natural resources on this land is an additional theft that would have to be repaid. Now, as far as the Lakota, I don't think that they will succeed. Obviously the USFG will continue it's efforts at subduing the Natives. Should they be allowed? Sure. Using Locke's theory of social contract alone they should take what little they have left and run. |
