2008 Candidates Pledge to Get Together and Mess Up the Country

Hello Freedomphiles! So, John McCain met with Barack Obama at the president-elect's Chicago transition office. All went well - at least in public - and in a joint statement, they said, "We had a productive conversation today about the need to launch a new era of reform where we take on government waste and bitter partisanship in Washington. We hope to work together in the days and months ahead on critical challenges like solving our financial crisis, creating a new energy economy and protecting our nation's security."

Oh great, bipartisanship. If you ask me, I prefer my government bitter and divided. Rick's Government Axiom #4 has always been: A government that can't get anything done, can't do anything to you. Hooray for gridlock!

I mean, seriously - what has bipartisanship brought us? The PATRIOT Act, The Defense of Marriage Act, a trillion dollar bailout package, The Iraq War, No Child Left Behind - no thanks.
