Patriot Act will not be reversed. It keeps this country safe from the new generation of terrorists. Obama will not reverse much IMO.
Could you describe specifically how that works? I mean, creating a police state would eliminate the threat of terrorism, but a police state is kinda bad, too...

You need to look more closely at the Patriot act. There are several portions of it which are unconstitutional.

Don't count on Messiah Obama to do much reversing of the Bush regime's unconstitutional actions, especially since most of them were passed into law by Congress.

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

There will be some Democrats voting to block the changes and some Republicans voting to make the changes.

Indubitably.

The first sentence is true. The second is not. Pay attention:

From The Rutherford Institute:
Quote:
The Patriot Act was rushed through Congress, even though the majority of our representatives admitted to not reading it, reassured perhaps by the inclusion of a five-year sunset provision. But that sun does not seem to be setting on this chilling piece of legislation. Instead, the Senate Intelligence Committee is not only working to make the Patriot Act permanent, but also to expand its reach.
Having said that, however, I don't think there are immediate plans to revise or eliminate it; we've got too many more pressing problems...

H. R. 3162

The Act passed in the Senate by a vote of 98 to 1, and in the House by a vote of 357 to 66.

In the Senate, all but two dems (47) voted for the measure.
In the House, 145 dems voted for the measure. 62 voted against along with 3 reps.

Therefore, with all due respect, his second sentance is indeed true.
Ignoreing documented history doesn't help your argument. There is no excuse for voting for a bill you haven't read.
