Well, I guess you are the expert in that gobblidigook department.

Go back and read the numerous columnists on the Palin decision. NY Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Sacramento Bee, etc... I bet you only watch Fox for your news.
even Fox cannot contain the stupidity of Palin. Or the damage the Religious right have done.

That is an unsubstantiated rumor. I highly doubt Sarah Palin doesn't know Africa is a continent. Come on....

Whether she knows what countries are in NAFTA or that Africa is a continent, is not the point. The point is that staffers are telling Fox news that she doesn't know.

Yes, I'm aware of that. Supposedly Palin did not get along well with many of McCain's staffers and that is allegedly why they are saying this stuff.

Or maybe just maybe she really is that stupid.

Of course many of McCains staffers dont like Palin she did stupid things like spending 150,000 dollars on clothing and making a total *** of herself on national TV. She didn't cost him the election but she sure didnt help.

If the republicans are stupid enough to keep her in the public eye then they have no one but themselves to blame.

I think we will see what effect the election and the choices Republicans have made in the next couple of years. The trend in the past 30 years has been to homogenize the party. I remember in the early 80's there were actually Republican environmentalists, something which you would never even consider now.

So, will they choose to appeal to the broader public or continue to foster a party of a base ideology with no tolerance for alternatives (moderates, paleos, libertarians, etc.)?

It is my opinion, that we will see a series of purges with which those members who want broad appeal will be marginalized. Perhaps after a few election cycles, the party will once again be a coalition of factions.
