In 2006 for the very first time all members of the Forbes richest 400 Americans list were BILLIONAIRES. They have become a class in and of themselves under Bush and that needs to change.

There is no trickle down happening in America. Many of the billionaires are running corporations that have moved offices and factories to other countries due to our current tax incentive - not paying taxes on profits earned outside this country. And then these are the same people that outsource jobs to other countries. And these are the same people using offshore banks to avoid taxes. That is not trickle down, that is trickle OUT. All of that money and jobs are going to other countries to support their infrastructure. In the meantime, the Super Rich are not really supporting the American infrastructure by which they got rich.

I support having a much more fair system that does not over indulge the Super Rich. But where I differ with Obama is that he should not fall back into the old Democrat tax and spend on social programs and benefits. The Republicans are as bad with tax cuts to the rich and spend on the military, bail outs for bllionaires, growing goverment to gargantuan size, etc... They have double the national debt and tripled the longterm unfunded fiscal commitments in Bush's two terms in office - all of which has led to the current economic collapse. That is most likely the most horrific reckless spending in our history.

We desperately need to start paying down the national debt and reigning in federal spending.

Yeah.. but maybe you missed the point. When a Democrat is in office, Republicans need to hold Congress.. and when a Republican is in office, Democrats need to hold Congress.

There was no oversight by anyone for the last 8 years.. Remember the biggest deficit for President Bush.. came this year under a Democrat Congress.

Because labor unions have priced American workers out of the job market. There's no reason, for example, why someone who is doing unskilled factory work (as opposed to being, say, a skilled machinist) should be making the kinds of wages the labor unions have forced on the automobile manufacturers.
