Default Bush Speaks

Bush urges patience amid further signs of slowdown - International Herald Tribune

"These are decisive measures aimed at the heart of our financial challenges," he {Bush} said. "And they're big enough and bold enough to work. And the American people can be confident that they will."
AUDACITY: Bush, who has a disapproval rating of 70% and 89% think he's leading us in the wrong direction asking the country to have CONFIDENCE in him.

I guess Bush is determined to go out with a fart....

The Raw Story | Ron Paul: 'We're going to all suffer and pay' for the bailout

Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) has been an opponent of the government's financial bailout plan from the outset, and he doesn't like it any better for the recent tweaks. "I don't think it's going to do any good whatsoever," Paul told CNN's Kiran Chetry on Friday.

"The credit markets are starting to loosen up a bit," Chetry suggested. "Is that a sign that maybe it is working?"

"Maybe to some degree on the short run," Paul acknowledged. "But that just means that we'll have more inflation. You can't create $5 trillion out of thin air and not expect inflation. ... In time, we're going to all suffer and pay for this."

"Economically, it's a disaster," continued Paul. "This is going to cause a great deal of harm. It's like a drug addict taking a strong fix, and he feels better for a day or two, but believe me, we're going to kill the patient ... so I would say, let's get off this addiction."
And Bush wants us to have confidence in him. Well I have confidence that if it's Bush then it's a clusterf**k plain and simple.

But who do you have more confidence in, Bush or Paul?

Bush to host summit on global cash crisis

U.S. President George W. Bush announced on Saturday he would host the first in a proposed series of global summits on the financial crisis as the world grapples with the biggest economic debacle since the Great Depression.

"It is essential we work together because we are in this crisis together," Bush said before a meeting at Camp David with French President Nicolas Sarkozy and European Commission head Jose Manuel Barroso.

A joint statement after the meeting said the first summit would take place in the United States soon after the Nov. 4 U.S. presidential election and focus on the "principles of reform" needed to fix the world's financial system.
I guess Bush wants to wait until after the election so he doesn't remind people on how badly his 750 billion dollar bail out failed...
