I was going to do a new thread on this, but I'll just add it here.

It turns out that McCain is hurting Joe the Plumber more so than he claims that Obama's taxes would. Joe the plumber, as it turns out, is not a licensed plumber (which is required in that state), and isn't paying his taxes now as it is.

We also have "Joe the Plumber" comeing out and saying after the debate, that it is not true that he would be in a higher tax bracket under Obama's Plan, saying.

No, he says that is what he hopes it will grow into. That is not the amount that he would make right after taking it over. And even so the amount of tax increase that he would pay would be extremely small when he crosses that line, because when you move into a new bracket, only the money in that bracket is taxed.

So if you make $260,000 and everything under 250,000 is at 25% and everything over 250,000 is 30% under McCain and 40% under Obama, that 30%-40% area will only effect the money over $250,000 or $10,000 of it, so under McCain he would pay $65,500 and under Obama it would be $66,500 (an increase of 1.5% in total taxes). Now these are the actual tax numbers, but it is the actual tax system of different brackets. When you just cross a bracket line, the taxes of that brack have very very little effect (as seen in this example).

Technically, he is suppose to be licensed right now, and he should be using that money to pay off his late taxes, not buy a business. That in itself shows that he is a poor money manager, and the company will likely suffer because of it.

Yeah, and I eventually hope to make 10 million a year. Doesn't mean that McCain can claim that Obama is going to raise my taxes.

You don't have to be licenced to be a plumber or to work as a plumber. End of story.

Who says he isn't paying his taxes?? Instead of quoting a "blog", please provide a link to this accusation.

The real issue here is that Obama wants to take "Joe the Plumber's" hard earned money and spread the wealth to others. It just ain't right...
