I thought this was interesting. The below depicts the electoral map and who is leading regardless of margin. Sure, Obama may not win them all but he is leading. A few even have (in some polls) given him a 10 pt margin (NM). It depicts what would truly be a landslide.



Below depicts those states where Obama is not only leading but also leading by a double-digit margin. Give McCain Ohio, give him Florida, give him MO and CO and NM. Note the electoral vote count.

GW has given the Republicans a bad name and Palin was a poor choice for VP. I kinda feel sorry for McCain.

McCain can not win any blue or purple state.

There are 3 groups of states.

1) States that voted for Bush in both 2000 and 2004.
2) States that voted for Bush in either 2000 or 2004, but not both.
3) States that didn't vote for Bush either 2000 or 2004.

McCain is not leading, or even in a toss up in any state outside of category 1. Infact, in all states of Category 2 and 3, McCain is doing the best in is New Mexico (voted Bush in 04, but not 00) and he is down by 8.4%.

Obama has all of the states in cat 2 and cat 3 and has 7 states in cat 1 (for a total of 100 electorial points in cat 1).
