Default Is abortion a legit reason to vote for Mccain?

Is abortion a legit reason to vote for Mccain? That is the question at hand. I know a lot of people down here, in South Georgia who think because of their religious convictions. There is some legit reason here, but there are more important things to worry about IMHO. So what are your thoughts? Do you believe in such idiocy, or are you a smart DEMOCRAT DAWG?

I would vote for Obama on abortion.

It is neither for you nor I to say what is a legitimate reason to vote for anyone. Everyone has their own issues that are dear to their hearts. For you to think that you somehow are the judge to know better than others as to what is important is where the idiocy lies.

Everyone has their own opinions as to what is important and it is not fair for you to say that what you think is important actually is and when others think other things are important that they are screwed up. You can't really be a Pysch major and think like that, can you?! And if so, then I will probably never go see a Pysch person for help since if that is the way you guys think, I'll stay away.

You missed my point, and I was being sarcastic. My point was is it smart to put one political view ahead of the big picture? As so many GOPers do so.

Do you think Republicans are the only ones that go out and support a candidate solely on their abortion stance?

For someone talking about keeping an open mind you are being rather narrow minded thinking that GOPers are the only ones that vote based on one issue. I am pretty sure if you do some looking around you will find people that vote for someone because of a stupid letter next to their name.

There is nothing any President is going to be able to do about abortion (not that the federal government has any business legislating for or against medical procedures) as long as the unconstitutional Roe v. Wade remains in effect (unconstitutional because the Supreme Court does not have the authority under Article III to insert its own meaning into the Constitution as it did with Roe). Even if McCain gets to appoint a couple of judges to the Court there's no guarantee they're going to overturn Roe. After all, Reagan (the conservatives' hero) appointed Sandra Day O'Connor and what did she do to overturn Roe?

Abortion is a legitimate reason to support or oppose a candidate if you're someone for whom abortion is an important issue.

As for you idiotic comment "there are more important things to worry about," those who are against abortion would respond by asking you "So, you think that there are more important things to worry about than murder?" For some of these anti-abortion people, abortion is the most important issue of all.

"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."
