Exclamation The gall of the Democrats- Bull’s Eye Palin

These are the depths to which the Democrats have fallen to. They can't
legitimately attack Governor Palin's character or record, so they resort
to a bunch of stupid jokes! 75 Sarah Palin Joke One Liner

The Bridge to No Where, Palin was for it before she was against it.

But she kept the money, 100 million dollars...

Palin tried to get the bridge approved for a very long time and that is absolute fact. When it wouldn't go because people noticed her ridiculous attempt she got the money to build the road leading up to the bridge to nowhere. The road hasn't been built and they got the money....

It's a legitimate criticism of shady dealings and so are many other jokes in there.

Palin touts stance on 'Bridge to Nowhere,' doesn't note flip-flop: Gov. Sarah Palin | adn.com

"I told Congress, thanks but no thanks on that bridge to nowhere," Palin told the cheering McCain crowd, referring to Ketchikan's Gravina Island bridge.

But Palin was for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it

snip

Meanwhile, Weinstein noted, the state is continuing to build a road on Gravina Island to an empty beach where the bridge would have gone --because federal money for the access road, unlike the bridge money, would have otherwise been returned to the federal government.
Those are the facts....

Well, considering Alaska has about a 1000-1 male/female ratio, and Palin's not a bad looking woman, it doesn't surprise me she got away with things.

That's my theory, anyway.

Of course, having a bridge to the island brings easier access and raises property values.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

The trickiest defense of Palin in the national spotlight involves her reputation as a budget-cutting fiscal conservative.

Part of that reputation comes from her political rhetoric, beginning with her years as mayor of Wasilla. But while Palin made controversial cuts at the local museum in Wasilla and battled library expansion, she oversaw a fast-growing town with a fast-growing budget to match.

As with much of Palin's sun-kissed career, her timing was ideal: She was able to cut property taxes by three-fourths because sales tax revenues from the city's new big-box stores were soaring. She even pushed for a sales tax increase to build a pet project, a new sports complex for ice hockey.
Yes. by all means let's look at Palin's record.

Chan Chan Chan and you wonder why people question your Libertarian credentials, and call you a republican.

Please tell me you are just making a devils advocate argument, and are not actually defending a federal earmark for that bridge.

Actually, I'm not defending the federal earmark. I am, however, questioning the characterization of the bridge as a bridge to "nowhere." I'm sure that at least some of Gravina Island's 50 residents would not object to having their property values increase.

Maybe they should have thought about that before they bought houses in the middle of nowhere. my guess is some of them bought the houses in expectation for the bridge.
