McCain, who brags about cutting spending, was front and center voting yes on the new pork laden bail out bill.
Senate bailout bill adds sweeteners - Economy in Turmoil - MSNBC.com That's not all about McCain The Raw Story | McCain took Palin foreign policy advice 'many times'Considering that Citizens For Global Solutions give McCain an "F" rating, who is he to say others are wrong? I hereby give McCain the ranking of "Prodigious Farter." |

What really pisses me off about the bill, besides all those "sweeteners" being added, is that Barbara Boxer, Senator from the land of the Californicators, said to her fellow senators that out of the 90,000-95,000 calls and e-mails she received from Californicators, 85,000 of them were opposed to the bill. Yet she still voted for the damned thing! We elect these people to represent us and yet they insist on going against the will of the people. I could understand if the calls were fairly evenly for and against (maybe within a 5-point margin) but when your constitutents are so overwhelmingly against something, you really should do what your constituents are telling you. As for your entirely UNRELATED crap: "Considering that Citizens For Global Solutions give McCain an "F" rating, who is he to say others are wrong?" Who the hell is Citizens for Global Solutions that I should give a rat's behind what they think? I will give you this much (though you're not deserving of even this), since both McCain and Obama are big government, nanny-stater interventionists who insist the United States must project power over the rest of the world, neither of them are in a position to criticize the other.

A panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air. "Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes toward the exit. The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his shoulder. "I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up." The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation. "Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves." |

Absolutely correct me if I am wrong, but the mirror theory is where the representatives faithfully represent the will of their constituents, even if they personally disagree, whereas the Burkean is where the representative presumes to act on behalf of the people, as a "better" person, a wiser one, and shouldn't give in to crass populism of the uneducated masses. I guess it all depends on whether the people represented have any idea what they want, or not. Anyway, that's how I read this, that the Congresscritters firmly believe they know better than the people do, on this (not that they take much time to explain anything to us.....)
