What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his
graduating class?
What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said 'I
do' to? What
if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife after she
no longer
measured up to his standards?

What if Michelle Obama were a wife who not only became addicted
to pain
killers, but acquired them illegally through her charitable
organization?
What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard? What if Obama were
a member of
the 'Keating 5'? What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent
speaker?

If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the
election
numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and
minimizes positive
qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in
another when
there is a color difference.

It's got nothing to do with race, and everything to do with John McCain.

McCain was vetted in 2000 so most of his lesser qualities are very well known (and god knows, there are plenty of them), he's a former POW so he already gets some slack cut his way, and oh yeah, FAMILIES DON'T WIN ELECTIONS. GW had a party-girl daughter and doormat wife in 2004, still beat Kerry who's wife is a millionaire (what is it with Senators and sugar-mommas?).

You're accusing people of making judgements that they can't possibly make because Obama IS married to his original wife (who, by the way, is pretty hot, especially in older pictures), Obama DID go to Harvard, and Michelle DID NOT find herself addicted to pain killers. Thus, you're claiming racism for something that CANNOT happen. Jesus, you wannabe victims never stop do you?

This thread is just as pointless as the email thread. How is any of this election cycle about race?

I guess I am an idiot for thinking that after the debate people would actually get around to talking about ISSUES. But instead we end up with threads like these. We can make anything about Race, Gender, Sexual Orientation blah blah blah. This thread is not intended to discuss the racial issues that exist in the world. It is stupid blatant "White folk are the root of all evil" or "You all hate Obama because he is black"

If you want to talk about racial tension in this country or around the world for that matter for the love of all that is holy. Do not bring up Obama and McCain.

Here is what you said:And that other thread is based on an email that VL (threads author) received from one of her online buddies. The first line of her OP states that her "black" friend sent it to her. Of course, it was predictable since she is a staunch Obamite. She introduced the race card right away. Was the mention that he was black make it a more credible opinion?? Why are the Obama supporters trying to steer this election towards race? Maybe to increase chances of gaining votes across America, and touching on the very strong emotion assciated with race talk.

Sounds like on of Alinsky's Rules for Radicals.

It attacks Viola, and me - but doesn't comment on any facts from the first thread. I Obama graduated nearly last from his class, was a known womanizer, had a wife with a history of drug addiction, and had been involved in scandals in the WH - would he even have been a candidate?

By the way, I did comment on your posted link with my opinion.
Well, yes, but that post was well before you - or anyone - had commented.

If so, then tell me who are the conservative or republican advisers here that help cover the political spectrum?? Haven't seen any yet.

I'll let pjohns know he's a liberal. I think that will disappoint him, though.

Well I guess we will never know now will we. What is the point of all of these "what if" scenarios? We can what if our selves to death. It serves no purpose other than trying to say "everyone in America is a racist" It is stupid and serves nothing other than some agenda. It does not stimulate conversation about a given issue.

No. but he's defniitely being vetted now! I am from AZ, and a former McCain supporter, and I have watched the love affair the press has with our self gelded ex-maverick.

No, I am saying that the first black candidate from a major party has to be rather better than average to even compete. The glass ceiling in politics does exist. And had Sarah Palin been a black governor of Mississippi with 4 kids and a pregnant teen, there is no way she would be Mccain's running mate.

Racism is subtle - I think it does exactly what the OP says. I'm not claiming victimhood - I leav e that to republicans and conservatives because they really like that marty routine - I am pointing out an fact you are uncomfortable with.

Evidently you're uncomfortable even thinking about it - so feel free to go back to your comfort zone.

Oh I have no problem thinking about it, but when you put political slants on issues such as these its stupid.

Imagine that - someone with a political slant posting on a political bulletin board!

While you, of course, are the proverbial blank slate.

The fact is that I DID NOT attack you...you just don't agree with my opinion and that seems to put you in the defensive posture. Don't be so paranoid.

It does NOT attack you, unless you are connected with Viola in some way. Or maybe you are Viola's protector? If you are NOT Viola or Viola's protector then maybe you should MYOB.

Your second post was soliciting a response. I responded with my opinion and then you begin to complain about how you are being attacked. Sounds like a case of you baiting...then pricking your finger with the same hook.

Are you purposely avoiding my question? I asked you what other advisors in this forum are conservative/republicans. If you would rather not answer, then maybe someone else can for you.

If you want to continue trolling and baiting, then I suggest you grow a thicker skin and not whine about it when someone else posts an opinion that you don't agree with.

Well, who pissed in your wheaties?

Your attack was in the accusation that VL and I were using Alinsky tactics. I'm neither afraid nor paranoid - though you seem to be making a rather large deal over a minor comment. You still haven't commented on the facts of this post. To you, a troll is someone who posts an OP you disagree with - or who disagrees with you. Fine - we all need our own vocabulary!

As to the advisor question - I did answer it - you were just to busy with your hissy fit to notice it. Talk to the mods if it bothers you.
