No, wealth does not correlate with intelligence. But most poor people are like most Americans: stupid sheeple who vote based on those little 10-second soundbites the media feeds them.

What are the reasons for that? Obviously apathy is one of them, but there are others too, some disenfranchising.
The vested interests are not served by democracy. To mitigate, as best as possible, the likelihood of poor votes altering the balance of power away from their interests is a deliberate strategy. |
