He kind of does, Affrayer...but that's not EVEN the point.

The point is that his experiences as a POW in NO way prepare him to be president of this country although he somehow feels it does! And it isn't belittling his service to point this out. I'm not about to overlook his involvement in the Keating Five Scandal, the fact that he's a neocon and the fact that he tells EVERYBODY exactly what they want to hear.

Since McCain admits he was broken time and time again, I have to agree with you in his case whole heartedly.

I don't know. Anyone who crashed five jets and nearly destroyed an aircraft carrier could use a little belittling. Too bad they don't count destroying our planes otherwise McCain could pass himself off as an Ace!

Many people have forgotten that he kept the money...and he was the only one to do so. Personally I find it offensive that the republicans picked him to run as president.

So, let me see, here....

He graduates near the bottom of his class, was obviously a terrible pilot that managed a rare feat of become a reverse-ace by crashing and destroying five planes, manages to get captured and held as a POW, and now he's trading on his Vietnam experience as evidence of his qualification to become President?

Well, given that string of spectacular failures, compared to W's, maybe he IS Presidential after all.....

The man can barely get his arms over his head from having his shoulders dislocated. The NVA were not nice people, and he WAS tortured.

That said, I wouldn't vote for the man in a million years.

He broke his ARMS, not his shoulders, and the injuries he endures today are VERY similar to those of other POW's who had their shoulders hyperextended by the NVA in the SAME prison. Historical revisionism for the sake of politics is not appealing to those of us interested in making educated choices.

John McCain was tortured by the NVA, and I wouldn't vote for the man because his POLICY PREFERENCES are incongruent with my own.
