Default Palin's husband was part of secessionist party!

Palin spouse was member of secessionist party - John McCain News - MSNBC.com

His involvement with the Alaska Independence Party may endear him (and, by extension, his wife) to the few remaining states' rights Republicans (of the Buchannan mold).

At the very least, this little tidbit strengthens the "maverickness" of the McCain-Palin ticket.

"I'm a panda," he says at the door. "Look it up."

The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure enough, finds an explanation.

"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."

Or again make his campaign looks incompetent. I don't know how many people in the modern day world will hear that well. Even States rights republicans.

I think in contrast Palin makes him look more like a suck up. Se is a maverik he has become not so much of one.

Arguably, McCain needs his maverick reputation shored up perhaps more than just a bit.

I like him already. I won't vote for his wife, hot as she is, but I like the husband.

I was surfing around last night to learn more about McCain's running mate and read that SHE was into the Alaskan secession movement, not her husband. I don't know where I read it now, though. Anyway, I have no problem with the idea of secession, but that isn't exactly the philosophy desired in a VP.

With how badly this country has deteriorated from what our Founders envisioned, secession is way past due. Washington D.C. has become today's throne of King George (no pun intended) and if the Founders were living today they'd be launching a revolution against D.C.

She's a member of the Alaskan Independence Party. FALSE

Members of the Alaskan Independence Party - which wants Alaskans to vote on seceding from the union - say she was a member briefly in the mid-1990s. The McCain camp produced records showing she's been a registered Republican since 1982. But she did offer a brief video greeting at this year's AIP convention. Her husband, Todd, was an AIP member between 1995 and 2002.

But she did say the Iraq war was a "task from God".

I would just like to bring up how many people thought that Mrs. Obama was not patriotic enough.

At least she did not want to divide it.
