And, yes, he probably would prefer not to be reminded of celebrating his birthday and cutting the cake when Katrina was hitting, so it is a political issue. bush had already struck there after Katrina hit, the devastation was from both sources and had already taken it's toll.

Edwards was there to speak for the people who have been disenfranchised by bush's administration, the same one Mccain stands for now.

Okay, let me be a li'l clearer, Edwards campaigned there AFTER the hurricane not DURING it, McCain want's to use valuable resources needed for evacuation procedures 'n other operations WHILE this hurrican is unfolding on the coast.
Can't he let people do their jobs instead of tryin' to get a photo op out of this?

I always though Edwards was a total slimeball - turns out I was right. Amazing how true those instincts can be! On the other hand, using NO while it is not experiencing a hurricane is somewhat a differnt issue. Can you see that, and understand?

How is McCain doing it during? I don't see him in NO right now. All I see him doing is saying that folks should get the help they need.. and he doesn't want the GOP convention to be partisan in a time of "tragic" event.

Where is he stopping people from doing their jobs? Nowhere.

On the other hand John Edwards was "filmed" helping out taking up people's time.
